Racing 92 are likely to be without Simon Zebo when Munster visit Paris this Sunday, after the full-back suffered an ankle injury in his side's win at the weekend.
The former Munster man limped out of Racing's 27-19 win against Clermont in the Top 14 on Saturday, and was seen leaving La Defense Arena on crutches.
It had been the Corkman's first appearance for the French side in a month, and he now looks like a major doubt to feature in Sunday's game against his former side.
Another former Munster man in Paris - Donnacha Ryan - does look set to feature once again against his former teammates. The 36-year-old came off the bench for Racing in their victory against Clermont, as Laurent Travers's side moved up to 5th in the table.
Sunday's meeting is make-or-break time for Munster. After drawing with Racing in the return game at Thomond Park, and losing to Saracens in round four at Allianz Park, Johann van Graan's side know defeat would almost certainly end their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals for a fourth successive year. Victory for Racing would also guarantee themselves a place in the knockout stages, ahead of their final game away to Saracens.
Munster come into the game off the back of a heavy 38-17 defeat away to Ulster in the PRO14, and have won just two of their last seven in all competitions.
Speaking after that game at Kingspan Stadium, Van Graan said his side have suffered in recent weeks from not being able to field a settled team.
"Our European pool was always going to be tough against Racing and Saracens...we were forced to make 14 changes against Edinburgh and then we had the two games against Saracens. The second one I thought we played well, unlucky not to get away with a point.
"It was 10 changes for that game, then guys had to go away for two weeks.
"Then, more guys had to go away, seven changes again and then 10 tonight again 10 changes so obviously it is a concern. We want to win every single game but literally we haven't had any continuity."
