Tadhg Furlong recalls 2017 Murrayfield bus fiasco

Last time Ireland pitched up at Murrayfield, it didn't end well. Didn't start well either if truth be told.

It was the opening day of the 2017 Six Nations and Joe Schmidt's side faced a pre-match issue.

The team bus arrived 15 minutes late at the ground after getting delayed en route.

At the time, Schmidt dismissed it as an excuse for a 27-22 in which Ireland conceded three first-half tries.

It was also Tadhg Furlong's first Six Nations. At today's press conference building towards the 2019 Scotland game, he recalled the bus anecdote.

"What can you do?"

"If you look back, it was my first proper Six Nations," he said.

"I was starting the game and we were in the dressing room. I think we were pretty much in and out to warm up.

"It's no excuse either. You have to expect the unexpected. What can you do? You have to get on with it. It's hard to say if it affected or not but we definitely started slowly.

"All I knew was we were in the dressing room and we were a bit tight on time. Everyone threw on the boots and ran outside then."

You can watch the full press conference above.
