Sean Cavanagh- “ You do realise how sensitive people take things”

Sean Cavanagh believes that the so-called “lesser counties” don’t get enough air time.

The former Tyrone man spoke to Eoin in studio about the transformation from player to pundit and how he thinks he will fair in this sector:

“I’m trying to ensure to give everyone a fair trial. ”

“I think if I can be objective about a team’s performance I’ll have no problem”.

“For a long time as a county player looking at pundits you can get very easily offended. When you’re a player, you’re in a bubble, you’re not always thinking holistically”

“The so called lesser counties don’t get enough air time but it’s hard when you’re under that time restraint”.

“It is competitive and egos takeover”.

“I’m learning the ropes and seeing the other side. I’m quite analytical by nature. I’m a stats guy. I think I’m going to enjoy that side of things”.

The Omagh native gave his thoughts ahead of the upcoming Ulster Championship Quarter-final showdown with rivals Monaghan:

“It’s hard to say where Tyrone are ,Monaghan are really at it at the moment. I think everyone knows they are within the top 8/ top 6”.

“Sunday will really tell us if they are capable of pushing on”

“If we are to kick onto the next level we need that attacking prowess”

The Tyrone man held back his optimism in exchange for realism as he played down Tyrone’s hopes against a strong and evolving Monaghan side who beat both Dublin and Tyrone in the league this season.
