Karen Duggan: "We'll learn a lot from those mistakes"

The Republic of Ireland's Karen Duggan couldn't hide her disappointment as her side fell to a 2-0 defeat to Norway at Tallaght Stadium on Friday.

The Irish conceded both goals from set-pieces and speaking to Off the Ball's Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh after the match, she said: "We're very disappointed - to concede from two set pieces, it's not a very Irish way and it's not a trait that we want in our game so we're disappointed with that.

"We came into the group - Norway were top seeds so we knew it was going to be tough. They're not top seeds for no reason but we thought we set up well and we trained well all week but the first one was pretty sloppy I suppose and it's hard to come back against a team like that but we'll regroup now and look forward to the next one.

"We'll learn a lot from those mistakes hopefully and regroup for Tuesday and hopefully we'll go away and get something out of the game and that still has to be our ambition. We know they're a good team but we also know from the game today that it is possible for us to get a result there.

"You can always improve - we'll analyse the game. We'll analyse our own performances and hopefully learn something. We'll do a lot of work on that but I think alot of the work will be done in classroom, seeing where we went wrong and what we can do to go over there and get a result but we're going out to get a result and that has to be our attitude," she added.

Colin Bell's side head to Norway on Tuesday two points behind their hosts.
