Former Tyrone footballer Enda McGinley says Dublin's comprehensive Allianz League win over Mayo is "pretty depressing" for all their prospective rivals.
He joined ex-Mayo midfielder David Brady to look through the weekend's action.
But it was the 1-12 to 0-7 win over the Dubs over Mayo that has resonated.
"It was pretty sobering for the rest of the country to see it," said McGinley.
"We all got used to the thing of Monaghan and Kerry beating Dublin and thinking, 'God, this may be the year that Dublin show a chink in the armour'. But unfortunately the caveat to that always was that Dublin were rusty and were just back from their holidays. They hadn't done much training.
"Pretty depressing"
"But the return to Croke Park, the nice surface and you just saw the quality."
McGinley added that some may start "pinning their hopes on Kerry".
"Because looking at Mayo, it's very hard to see where they close that gap as the games get even faster heading into the summer," he said.
"So it's pretty depressing for everybody else really."
McGinley also discussed Congress' defeat of Motion 39. That motion would have meant no team could use Croke Park as a home and neutral venue in the Super 8s of the All Ireland.
That was clearly aimed at Dublin's perceived advantage. They played at GAA HQ in their home and neutral games last summer.
"Let's be frank. Croke Park is worth at least 3-4 points in any game to Dublin," he said.
"So that's not to say Dublin will lose. They beat most teams by a heck of a lot more than that. But at least the teams that are getting there and almost there, that's just another thing that weighs on the benefit of Dublin. Frankly, they've that good of a team, they don't need that benefit at the minute."
He also questioned the decision-making process in the GAA at present.
"The Ard Chomhairle, in terms of a democracy, I'm not sure what it is," said the three-time All Ireland winner.
