Andy Lee believes Katie Taylor won't be fighting in Ireland anytime soon

Andy Lee can't see Katie Taylor fighting in Ireland anytime soon given the lack of media promotion her team did here in the lead up to her title unification fight in New York last weekend.

"The problem for her is that there's a lack of depth in female professional boxing," Lee told Nathan. "The girl that she fought last week was a champion for three years and Katie out-classed her really when she wanted to.

"When Katie wanted to box, she chose to mix it at times and it was, kind of, even in the mixes but, for the most part, Katie out-classed her.

"Just going back to Katie selling out tickets - I think it's very hard. People support boxing and are fans but there's not really a culture of going to fights in Ireland.

"I know at the Olympics, the places were packed in the arena and that was her, coupled with the Olympics - there was the expectation from Beijing where the team did so well and going into the Olympics - Katie was such a favourite.

"And, being the Olympics in London - there was such a hysteria.

"In the build-up to the last fight, there wasn't much press in Ireland done and there was little awareness that it was even taken place - in my mind, they don't feel like they're coming to Ireland anytime soon because they would start planting seeds now and promoting her here and building here up and doing a lot more interviews and punch for that so I don't think they see her coming back here anytime soon," he added.
