Unai Emery on his Arsenal future

Arsenal manager Unai Emery says he can understand why the club's supporters are calling for a change.

The Gunners boss is under increasing pressure after a run of just one win in eight games in all competitions.

Arsenal are already eight points off a top-four spot and it's been reported the club is on the lookout for a new manager.

Arsenal needed a late equaliser to rescue a point at home to a struggling Southampton side, who in truth should have come away from the Emirates with all three points.

Next up is Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League and Emery's future was the main topic of conversation in his press conference ahead of the meeting with the German club.

The Spaniard was asked if this is one of the most difficult moments of his career.

"As a coach each moment in my career is difficult. This is a very good but very hard job.

"When you are winning you feel the support for everybody.

"I believe in us, I believe in the players. I know I am going to work very hard to come back to the performance.

"I am looking forward to playing tomorrow. The good moment, the bad moment the most important for me is to show my work.

"Our confidence depends a lot on how we can feel in our stadium with our supporters. Teams are coming here playing fearless.

"We need to be strong and together. We need to show our supporters our capacity and skills."

"My future is today and tomorrow. My job is to prepare the match tomorrow (Thursday), to look only at the match tomorrow."

The Arsenal boss is well aware the fans are not happy with him.

"They are angry and disappointed, as well we are. We have a very good opportunity to do that.

"Each match here in the Emirates is very important for that... the players need to feel backing them."

"My wish is the supporters help the team because we need them. Our confidence depends a lot on how we feel in our stadium with our supporters. Teams are coming here fearing us less and this is the first thing we need to change."
