Everton’s bright start under Carlo Ancelotti continued today as the Toffees overcame Newcastle by two goals to one at St. James’ Park.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the difference between the two sides, coming up with a brace of goals to seal the win for Everton.
Fabian Schar did manage to equalise for Newcastle in the 56th minute after Calvert-Lewin put the away side in front after 13 minutes, but the 22-year old struck again in the 64th minute to put the game to bed.
The result makes Ancelotti the third Everton manager to win his first two games in charge, after David Moyles and Joe Royle.
The Italian was very pleased with his side and singled out Calvert-Lewin in particular for praise.

“Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a very good striker but he's young and has to improve. He's a humble guy. I think he's going to be at the top in England and in Europe. He has all the quality to be a top striker,” Ancelotti said.
The win sees Everton rise to 10th in the Premier League table, leapfrogging today’s opponents Newcastle in doing so.
The Merseysiders look like a new side after sacking their former boss Marco Silva after 18 months in charge.
Everton were languishing in the relegation zone by the time the Toffees let Portuguese manager go, who had overseen three consecutive losses before his departure.
The Toffees now find themselves seven points clear of the relegation zone, with the Europa League now within touching distance for Ancelotti’s side.
Everton will be hard pushed to continue their winning-streak under Ancelotti as they travel to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City on Wednesday, but things are certainly looking up for the club.
