Tipperary without Quinlivan for 2020

Tipperary's footballers will be without their star forward Michael Quinlivan for the 2020 campaign.

Manager David Power has revealed that the Clonmel Commercials clubman is taking a year out to go traveling.

“Michael is going traveling, it is a thing that has been on his mind for a while now so he won’t be available to us next year," the new Tipp senior boss told The Sun.

“He’ll be a big loss obviously, but it’s something I had known about going for the job so you just have to get on with it.”

Quinlivan won an All-Star in 2016 and was part of the Premier's All-Ireland minor winning team under Power in 2011.

Tipperary will be hoping to make a swift return to Division Two next year in a bid to avoid playing in the Tier Two Championship next summer.

And Power says he's been boosted by the return of another 2011 All-Ireland minor winner, Colman Kennedy, to the panel.

Kennedy had previously been playing college soccer in the United States before returning home to join Limerick FC:

“Colman will be available to us for next year.

“He’s been playing well with Clonmel Commercials, and in general we have had a great response from players.
