Shelbourne have begun strengthening their squad ahead of their return to the SSE Airtricity Premier Division with the signing of Karl Sheppard.
The former Shamrock Rovers and Cork City striker has signed for the Drumcondra outfit ahead of the 2020 season.
The 28-year-old Sheppard endured a disappointing 2019 season with Cork City, scoring just three goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.
Before leaving for Everton, Sheppard had a spell as a schoolboy with Shels and is delighted to return, "I kept a close eye on Shels since I left them as schoolboy and last season", he told the club's website.
"They’re the first club I ever went to as a boy so I have always had a soft spot for them", Sheppard said of Ian Morris' side.
"Ian got in contact with me and told me about the plans for the season and I wanted to be apart of it".
Morris himself told the site, "I’m delighted to bring Karl in. He is a fantastic signing for us, he adds good competition for us out wide and up front.
"Karl’s a winner. That’s why he is here, to kick on again and try to achieve more."
Sheppard highlighted "some good young players" at Tolka Park, and says he wants to help the Reds finish as "high up the league as possible".
His arrival follows that of former Longford Town forward Aaron Dobbs.
