Bundesliga clubs allowed to train again

Bundesliga clubs will be allowed to return to team training on Monday, with some opting to work in small groups.

The German top-flight season has been suspended since March 13th because of the coronavirus pandemic, with the German Football League recommending clubs should not train until April 5th.

Defending champions Bayern Munich will welcome back players in limited groups in order to adhere to measures in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.

A club statement read: "The Bayern Munich first team will return to training in small groups from Monday, 6 April. This will be done in coordination with government policy and the relevant authorities. It goes without saying that all hygiene regulations will be strictly observed.

"Training will take place with no members of the public present. In order to further slow the spread of the coronavirus, Bayern asks fans to continue to follow the instructions of the authorities and therefore please do not come to the Bayern training ground."

Bayern were four points clear at the top when the season was put on hold and have since announced that Hansi Flick would remain the manager until the end of the 2022/23 season.

The German was brought in on as a short term fix in November to replace Niko Kovac but Flick has turned the club's form around since.
