Zlatan Ibrahimovic explains what has made Jose Mourinho such a successful manager

Zlatan Ibrahimovic knows Jose Mourinho better than most after sharing an extremely successful relationship at Inter Milan and the pair will both get their first taste of a Manchester Derby this weekend.

Mourinho rekindles his rivalry with Pep Guardiola and looks to set down an early marker to reaffirm Manchester United's status as title contenders.

The Portuguese has brought in Ibrahimovic as well as world record signing Paul Pogba to reestablish United as a global superpower in world football.

Speaking to the BBC ahead of the derby, the Swede explained why success seems to follow Mourinho and how he has become one of the world's elite managers.

"Wherever he went, he won," he told Football Focus. "Wherever he went with different teams... At Porto, for example, he won the Champions League. No one expected him to win the Champions League.

"In a short time he is very successful and that's not what every coach has [sic]. You have coaches that build up and clubs have a lot of patience with them. But this coach, in a short time, has brought big success."

The former PSG forward went on to explain what makes Mourinho such an effective man-manager and how he manages to get the most out of his players.

"He's direct with everyone. He's not a coach who goes behind you and tells you behind your back. He tells you if you're not good enough. I prefer that it's like that than to have somebody who says nothing to you.

"He does what he needs to do to win and he'll make sure he'll win, just like me as a player. I don't accept losing."
