Zinedine Zidane claims to have never lost his head as a player

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane raised some eyebrows on Tuesday night with comments made after his side defeated Wolfsburg 3-0.

The former French captain was speaking to the press when he revealed he never lost his head as a player. He added that he had no intention of doing so as a coach.

Zidane has famously been sent off twice during his World Cup career in France 98 and the 2006 World Cup Final. Despite Zidane's heroics in the final it is often forgotten that the then 25-year-old was given a two-game ban after stamping an opponent during a group game against Saudi Arabia.

Eight years later, Zidane infamously was sent off in the World Cup final for head-butting Marco Materazzi in his final match as a footballer. It was later revealed that the Italian defender allegedly insulted Zidane's mother and sister.

It looks like the Real Madrid manager has a rather short memory when it comes to his indiscretions on the pitch. At least Zidane seems to be behaving himself on the sidelines in his new role.
