One press conference later and it looks like Roy Keane to Celtic is becoming more and more likely.
Martin O'Neill has confirmed an approach for the Ireland assistant manager's services and to get the latest on the situation, we spoke to the Sunday Independent's Dion Fanning.
"I think if anything, it's a surprise that Celtic have gone for Keane when you look at what their targets are going to be next season. Europe is what they're looking to," said Fanning, citing Keane's lack of management experience at Champions League level.
Fanning believes that the increased interest in Keane as a manager is based on recent developments.
"It's quite instructive of the way that football works that Keane is a target on the back of the Ireland job and on the back of his increased profile in England," explained Fanning, giving his ITV punditry and the Keane Vieira documentary as evidence.
But he believes that Keane should perhaps stick around in the Ireland assistant job a little longer to learn more from O'Neill. He also believes that O'Neill coming out publicly to admit that Keane has been approached suggests a definitive decision is very close.
