Wexford’s resurgence as a hurling force continued last night a 2-11 to 14 points win over Kilkenny in the Leinster intermediate final at Nowlan Park.
Already this year the county's Under 21 side beat the Cats on their way to their second provincial title in a row while the seniors face Limerick this weekend in the quarter finals.
Having beaten Antrim they went on to lose to Dublin in a close game before beating All Ireland Champions Clare and Waterford in the qualifiers.
Former Wexford footballer Redmond Barry who's also a very talented hurler was one of the heroes of last nights win, scoring a goal as the 'Yellow Bellies' secured the Intermediate crown.
Afterwards he spoke to KCLR’s Kevin McGillicuddy about their win and how the Wexfordians are back on the ascendance.
