'We're not going to let them run away with it' | Solskjaer on title race

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists his side are still in the hunt for the Premier League title.

His charges failed to come away with three points from strugglers West Brom, where they were held to a 1-all draw.

The visitors were stunned by Mbaye Diagne's opener after just two minutes.

Bruno Fernandes netted an equaliser before half-time, but they could not find a second to win the game.

United are now in second, level on points with Leicester City. Both sides trail Manchester City by seven points, with City also holding a game in hand.

"We're the team closest, we should be challenging the team in front of us," Solskjaer said after the match.

"We're not going to let them run away with it, we're playing them soon.

"But we need to win games to be in that position."

While lamenting his own side's inability to play with any real fluidity, the Norweigan also referred to the chances West Brom created.

"The goal we scored, that's the way we need to put pressure on them, build pressure, play down the sides, get bodies in the box,"

"We did get down the sides a few times, a few crosses flashed across the line but there was no one there to tap it in.

"Some days you're not there, some days you score three or four, so it's just one of those days where we weren't where we should have been.

"We should play better, but we gave ourselves a tough start, you have 90 odd minutes to make amends and score goals so there's no need to panic.

"Second half there was only one-way traffic but still there were some moments where we could have lost the game, great saves from David."

United play Newcastle next weekend in the league, in between Europa League fixtures against Real Sociedad.
