Manchester United were been beaten 2-1 at Danish champions Midtjylland on Thursday night in the Europa League.
The pressure will surely be mounting on manager Louis van Gaal as he watched his side suffer another defeat, this time against underdogs Midtjylland.
Manchester United took the lead in the first half with a goal from Memphis Depay as he bundled the ball over the line at the second attempt, having lost his footing with his first try.
Before the half-time whistle, the Danish side struck back through Pione Sisto, whose low deflected drive beat Sergio Romero in the Manchester United goal.
There had been warning signs for Van Gaal's side however, as Romero had been called into action to stop a one-on-one opportunity just minutes before Depay registered the opener. They went in level at the break, but Romero was called into action early in the second half to produce another great save and keep United from going behind in the tie.
While he was up to the task on that occasion, he couldn't stop Paul Onuachu from snatching the winner in the 77th minute, as the 21-year-old shrugged off Juan Mata and fired past the Argentine in the United goal.
They very nearly scored again a few moments later to make it 3-1 as Onuachu almost profited from a mistake by Chris Smalling, but his previous strike was enough to give them the win, condemning the Dutchman to yet another low during his time in charge at Old Trafford.
In particular, he may be regretting the remarks he made following the defeat to Sunderland on the weekend that his side's only hope of returning to the Champions League was through winning the Europa League.
Still, the Manchester United fans in attendance at the ground seemed to make the most of their trip to Denmark, as they sang a jovial (if foul-mouthed) chant after the match.

In the other early kick offs in the Europea League, Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw at Fiorentina, with a Nacer Chadli penalty giving them an away goal to take back to White Hart Lane, while Borussia Dortmund were 2-0 winners over Porto.
