Dutch football fans really get behind their team's players in good times and the bad.
Jelle ten Rouwelaar, goalkeeper with second-tier side NAC Breda was playing for the first time on Friday night since the death of his 61-year-old mother. His team lost 4-1 to Go Ahead Eagles, but the game will be best remembered for what the fans did in the second half.
Fans of both teams began to applaud ten Rouwelaar in the 61st minute to support the 35-year-old and to remember his mother. The goalkeeper has been with NAC Breda since 2007 and is clearly loved by the fans.
Despite being known best as a Liverpool anthem, NAC's fans sung 'You'll Never Walk Alone' in honour of ten Rouwelaar's mother.
You could clearly see the goalkeeper was thankful for the gesture from the fans.
