Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has completed his loan switch to Lazio, with the Serie A side holding an option to buy him at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old made 40 appearances for The Red Devils last term but found his first-team chances diminished by the arrival of Bruno Fernandes in January.
Pereira, who had previous loan spells at Granada and Valencia in LaLiga since moving to Old Trafford in 2011, passed a medical in Rome this afternoon and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits that the Brazilian international has fallen down the pecking order following the signing of Fernandes.
“Yes, definitely," the United boss told their official website. "They’re a big club, Lazio. Andreas needs to play regularly.
“He started last season really well and played loads of games. You could see the confidence growing and see him developing but, after we signed Bruno, that position that Andy played in was taken because Bruno came in and had such an impact. We decided this is what was best for Andreas.”
