Liverpool's week has just gone from bad to worse following a 2-1 defeat to Wolves at home in the FA Cup.
The shock defeat comes just days after they crashed out of the EFL Cup at the hands of Southampton. And if that wasn't bad enough, they have a Premier League meeting with Chelsea next Tuesday.
Wolves were full value for their win today.
They made a stunning start to the tie, scoring inside the opening minute through the boot of Richard Stearman. Helder Costa capitalised on that early momentum with a piercing run through the Liverpool cover, and came agonisingly close to adding to their advantage. His resultant shot however, slipped past the wrong side of the post.
Coming into the last five minutes, Wolves struck a second deadly blow. Some sloppy forward play from Liverpool, resulted in Wolves intercepting possession and launching a counter-attack.
Costa threaded a pass through to allow Andreas Weimann to round keeper Loris Karius and slip the ball home.
Liverpool found some bite in the second half, advancing with much more purpose and cultivating real chances to open their account.
Divock Origi stole one back but the comeback arrived too late.
As usual, Twitter had plenty to say about the result.
Fair play to Wolves. Ran faster and worked harder than us. Liverpool way too complacent with that awful line-up and go out of the FA Cup.

FT: #LFC 1 Wolves 2: Abject performance. Reds got what they deserved. Out of both cups inside four days and 3 home defeats in a week.
