Ezequiel Lavezzi's transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to China should not come as a surprise, but the numbers behind the move really are.

The Argentinian international has joined Hebei China Fortune on a two-year deal. Lavezzi will join former Premier League players Gervinho, Gael Kakuta and Stephane Mbia as the four foreign-born players in the team.
Lavezzi's transfer fee has not been made public, but reports claim it to be around €4million. The piece of business by Hebei China Fortune is even more astounding as Lavezzi is out of contract with PSG at the end of the season.
The 2014 World Cup finalist is expected to become one of the highest paid players in the World. Cristiano Ronaldo reported earns €370,000 per week.
I love Ezequiel Lavezzi, but Hebei China Fortune are paying him €14m *net* annual salary. Equivalent to £400k/week before tax here.

Lavezzi was linked with Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter Milan recently as his contract in Paris wound down. The fact that he has signed for a Chinese Super League side, shows how powerful the Asian league may be coming in signing players.
