It all started so well for Robbie Horgan's Drogheda United as the Louth side thrashed rivals Dundalk 4 - 1 in the opening game of the campaign.
Yet three months on there has been a massive role reversal. Dundalk now sit atop the SSE Airtricity Premier Division, while things reached a head at Drogheda.
Earlier today, the club parted ways with Dundalk after a terrible run of form which included a 7 - 0 humbling at the hands of Dundalk and a 6 - 0 hiding by bottom of the table Athlone.
On tonight's League of Ireland slot, Roddy Collins and Stuart Byrne analysed the situation.
Stuey questioned whether the club were right to part ways with previous incumbent Mick Cooke in the first place.
Roddy reckons that the Drogs could have been a little bit further up the table if Cooke had stayed on and was coy when Ger asked him if he was interested in being considered for the role.
Stuey believes they have time on their side to push themselves back up the table by the end of the season and Roddy thinks a manager with experience of similar situations should be brought in.
The lads then discussed the quality of the Dundalk pitch with Stuey admitting that he does not like it.
