The former England and Manchester United striker emerged as the firm favourite to take over at the League Two club, who finished in the play-offs this season, and was announced as their new boss this afternoon.

Westley has managed Stevenage in eight of the past 12 seasons across two spells and has "opportunities outside of football to consider" according to Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace.
Sheringham has spent this season as attacking coach at West Ham, and was praised by out-going manager Sam Allardyce for the work he had done at the London based club contributing to the club’s high position in the table earlier in the season.
