City's fate out of their hands
City have handed the initiative to the red side of Manchester as they slipped up in Manuel Pellegrini's final home game to Arsenal at the Etihad this evening.
Should United win their remaining games, against West Ham and Bournemouth, it means City's maiden season under Pep Guardiola will be in Europe's second tier competition.

While United missing out on the Champions League would be a disaster in their own right, it could prove even more catastrophic for City who have splashed out £150 million this season alone in transfer fees to help them win the competition.
Its no secret the resources City have at their disposal, but for a side looking to establish a presence in Europe, failure to qualify on a consistent basis is simply unacceptable.
Spurs limping towards season end
The heartache of missing out on a Premier League title seems to be taking its toll on Spurs, as they continue their faltering end to the season.
Today's defeat means Spurs are now without a win since mid-April, with draws against Chelsea and West Brom the results that killed their title challenge.
If fans were hoping for some sort of backlash at White Hart Lane today in response would have been left sorely disappointed, as they suffered another meltdown after taking an early lead through Son Heung-Min.

A mistake from Hugo Lloris allowed Southampton to equalise through Steven Davis, before the Northern Irishman was afforded too much space in the run up to his second goal.
Today's disappointing defeat, coupled with Dele Alli's suspension for punching and their over aggressive finish to the Chelsea game is in danger of tarnishing what has been a magnificent season for the North Londoners.
Liverpool find their groove again
With a chance to win some silverware and a place in next year's Champions League, Liverpool fans would have been worried by the recent form of the club.
Squandering a two goal lead against Newcastle and being comprehensively beaten by Swansea last weekend would have been a cause for concern, but today they got their Europa League final preparations back on track with a routine 2-0 victory over Watford.

Fans should be pleased with what they saw today, as they looked comfortable against a side with little to play for.
The win also keeps the Reds in contention for a Europa League should things not pan out against Sevilla on the 18th of May, as they trail sixth place Southampton by two points with a game in hand.
