Luis Suarez, FC Barcelona and the Uruguayan Football Association have launched an urgent appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne against the ban handed down by FIFA for his biting incident with Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.
The full decision of the FIFA Appeal Committee was issued on Tuesday and an appeal was filed on Wednesday by Spanish lawyers Pintó Ruiz y Del Valle and Irish barrister David Casserly.
It is understood that the case will be dealt with in an accelerated arbitration with a hearing likely to be held on August 8th. It is not clear at this stage as to when a final decision will be issued by the CAS, but it is expected to be shortly after the hearing.
In the meantime, Suarez continues to be ineligible to play for Barcelona or Uruguay, pending the outcome of the arbitration.

According to the terms of his four month ban as it stands, Suarez could make his Barcelona debut in an El Clasico match against Real Madrid on October 26th.
