Shamrock Rovers sit five points clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division table with eight games to go.
The Hoops beat their biggest rivals Bohemians 1-ni in Saturday Dublin derby at Tallaght Stadium.
Daniel Lafferty got the goal for the hosts in the 4th minute of the first half.
Bohemians had two penalty calls denied with a particularly controversial moment in the 63rd minute when Danny Grant was taken down in the box.
The ref however waved it away.
Speaking to OTB Sports' Stephen Doyle at full-time Rovers manager Stephen Bradley said he felt the right call was made.
"I think we've had a lot of decisions go against us like that in these sort of games.
"I didn't think it was one [a penalty]. If you're going through the game one of them [Bohemians player] slides in on Liam [Scales] here, doesn't get booked, Liam slides straight after and gets a yellow card.
"You can nitpick them decisions all day. It's not a penalty he hasn't given it."
Bradley was particularly impressed with 22-year-old defender Liam Scales.
"Joey [O'Brien] has been carrying a knock and we knew they [Bohemians] were quick down the sides. Joey was struggling right up this morning to be fair.
"I thought Liam showed tremendous composure at times, when the ball came out he was either chesting or heading down to his teammates or taking touches.
"I thought he was really, really good. He's been very good since he came in, he's improving all the time. He has a real high level of ability and can keep improving."
Bradley had praise too for Bohemians and stressed that he had no intention of underestimating them before kick-off.
"We knew that they'd try and hit us down the sides. That's their biggest threat, they get wide and cross the ball.
"We knew that, you have to respect that.
"I thought to be fair we nullified it really well, I think Grant got in once in the first-half other than that I don't think there was any times they got in, we defended really well against that threat."
Rovers now sit five points clear at the top of the table with many seeing today as a possible title decider after Dundalk's poor form in recent weeks.
Bradley refused to get too excited at full time but did stress that this Rovers team are producing big results unlike before.
"We have to go to Cork next week, our destiny has always been in our own hands. We've always bee top since I think the start of the league.
"It's about attacking each game, Cork will be a different type of game, we'll go there and try and get three points again.
"I think this team has shown they can win a football match wither way, whether it's a pretty football game or an ugly second ball game and they've shown that again today."
