For many, Xherdan Shaqiri's bicycle kick equaliser for Switzerland against Poland in the Euro 2016 first knockout stage would have been their goal of the tournament.
The acrobatic and audacious effort which beat Lukasz Fabianski from the edge of the box so accurately was jaw-dropping.
But it has only finished third in UEFA's vote for Goal of Euro 2016, which saw more than 150,000 votes cast.
Instead Zoltan Gera's outstanding strike for Hungary in the entertaining 3-3 group stage draw against eventual champions Portugal finished top with a third of votes.
And Portugal provided the runner-up with Ronaldo's header against Wales garnering 24%.
Eder's long-range winning goal for Portugal in the final against France was fourth ahead of Hal Robson Kanu's wonderful turn and finish for Wales against Belgium in the quarter-final.
The Top 5
1 Zoltán Gera (Hungary v Portugal) 32%
2 Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal v Wales) 24%
3 Xherdan Shaqiri (Switzerland v Poland) 23%
4 Éder (Portugal v France) 16%
5 Hal Robson-Kanu (Wales v Belgium) 5%
Euro 2016 might not have delivered many goals but the ones that were scored were often outstanding.
Goals that didn't make the cut include Ronaldo's flick against Hungary and Dimitri Payet's curled winner against Romania on the opening night.
