With the title race hotting up, this Saturday's action certainly didn't disappoint.
Many were asking could Leicester return to winning ways after a narrow defeat to Arsenal, while Sunderland needed to start getting some points if they wanted to being to work their way out of relegation trouble.
1) Leicester show their title credentials with important victory
A draw today would have been a backwards step for Leicester City. A loss? Disastrous.
Instead, their late victory over Norwich City reaffirmed that Leicester have a real chance of winning the Premier League title.
Claudio Ranieri's men came into the game fresh after their 13-day break and showed guile in being able to adjust to the style of the opponent.
Scoreless after 70 minutes, Ranieri began his trademark tinkering and the introduction of Leonardo Ulloa changed the game as he went on to score the winning goal.
The Foxes' ability to find something from the bench must make them favourites, considering the they have no cup competitions to contest.

2) Sunderland's inability to finish will cost them their Premier League status
Sunderland suffered another defeat this afternoon, this time away to a West Ham side chasing European football.
Michail Antonio's first half goal gave the home side a justified lead at the break, as Slaven Bilic's men were by far the better side in the opening period.
Sunderland showed resilience in the second half and Jermain Defoe was a constant threat as he played off the shoulder of the last man. On two occasions he displayed his sharpness, but was ruled marginally offside after being put through on goal.
Sam Allardyce's side had opportunities to come back into the game though, and twice Jack Rodwell was denied, spurning excellent chances to draw his side level.
Although the manager can take heart from his side's response, it has now reached that stage in the season where "positive signs" and "good performances" won't save you from the drop.

3) West Brom survive second half scare to begin purple patch
A barnstorming opening half hour saw West Brom race into a three-nil lead against Crystal Palace at the Hawthorns, but Tony Pulis watched his side hang on after conceding twice in the second half.
West Brom were simply excellent in the early stages: they pressed in midfield, barely gave Cabaye a chance to pull the strings and the forward play from Stephane Sessegnon, Saido Berahino and in particular Salomon Rondon, was second to none.
Berahino's goal, their second of the evening, was one of the finest pieces of football seen this season.

Lessons will need to be learned however, Palace did have one or two good chance to draw the game level, but if West Brom can hit the highs of their first half performance on a more regular basis, they may well cause some upsets in the coming weeks as they face the league's top sides.
They next travel to the King Power stadium to take on Leicester on Tuesday night, in a game that looks much closer than it did before today's results.
