Samir Nasri has claimed that Pep Guardiola tried to keep at Manchester City before a loan move to Sevilla was confirmed.
The former France midfielder only made his first appearance of the season as a substitute against West Ham on Sunday and had also been left out prior to that after returning from the summer break overweight as Guardiola had revealed.

But speaking to Sevilla's club website after sealing a deal before deadline day, Nasri suggested that the manager was not keen on him leaving.
"Guardiola, until the last moment, tried to make me stay but I was clear I wanted to leave and go to a place where I could give my best level. I was looking for a family club and in Sevilla I have found just that, but until the last moment I haven't been able to leave," he said.
