Roy Keane's role in guiding Ireland to the knockout stages of Euro 2016 hasn't gone unnoticed by teams in the Premier League, as the assistant manager is being linked with the vacant managerial role at Hull.
The club confirmed that Steve Bruce resigned from his position with the team on Friday, after reportedly growing frustrated with their lack of ambition in the transfer market despite a growing injury list and their return to the Premier League.
Bruce had been with the club for four years, guiding them to two successful promotions and an FA Cup final, but in the wake of his departure, and with the start of the season just a few weeks away, Hull will need to act fast to find a replacement.
According to The Daily Mail, they already have one man in mind, and that's Roy Keane.
The former Sunderland and Ipswich manager has been alongside Martin O'Neill on the touchline for the Republic of Ireland since 2013, but is often linked with managerial positions as he looks to return to a career as the main man in the dugout.
The Mail report that while Keane has verbally agreed to return to the Ireland set-up, he could be convinced to make the switch given that Hull are in the Premier League.
Furthermore, they note that he is currently out of contract and as a result, Hull would not need to offer any compensation to the FAI.
Other names that have been mentioned that could also be approached about the vacant managerial role at the KC Stadium are Harry Redknapp and Neil Warnock, while caretaker manager Mike Phelan may also be handed the job on a more permanent basis before the season gets underway.
