A Dutch trade union, FNV, along with a man from Bangladesh are suing FIFA over working conditions in Qatar, it is being reported by DutchNews.nl.
The lawsuit was filed at the weekend in a Swiss court which has criticised the conditions in Qatar over what human rights organisations have labeled "modern slavery".
Geert-Jan Knoops, professor of international law at Amsterdam University told De Volkskrant: "‘Developments in international law have meant that companies and organisations such as FIFA can be held jointly liable for violations of human rights that arise from their investments in foreign countries."

Qatar is due to host the 2022 World Cup and has seen it's population swell to cater for all the new developments in the country as it prepares for the tournament.
A report released by Amnesty International last March highlighted conditions for foreign workers and showed there were roughly 1.9 million migrant workers in the country.
The report also highlighted the horrible treatment of workers by employers and agents in the country who have confiscated passports, banned movement outside of work camps and threatened workers who complain.
Some workers have also had to pay fees to agents for getting them work in Qatar whilst others complained of late payment of salaries.
