Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says being sacked by Reading five years ago today has helped him deal with the situation he finds himself in now.
The 41-year-old is going through what is arguably his toughest period since taking over at Anfield.
The Merseyside club are 11th in the Premier League and they are also out of the Champions League at the group stage.
Rodgers believes losing his job at Reading helped him in the long run.
"It was probably the making of me as a manager. It's not until you experience that, that you can really go in and analyse and reflect on things that you can be better at. It gave me the chance to reflect and for me to better, hopefully for my career," he said.
