Ray Houghton and Jason McAteer have paid tribute to the courage shown by the families of the Hillsborough victims after today's inquest verdict.
The Liverpool and Ireland legends spoke to Off The Ball tonight as the inquest ruled that 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives were unlawfully killed as a result of negligence.
"They showed great courage, determination when others were doubting what happened, they didn't. They wanted to know the truth," said Houghton, who also recalled the tragic events of the day.
"I think now we've come to the conclusion with the result today that there are people who have to be accountable for their actions on that day."
