Paris Saint-Germain ended an excellent week for the club on another high as they clinched the French league title this afternoon with three months to spare.
Having knocked out Chelsea on Wednesday to reach the Champions League quarter-finals, they saw second-placed Monaco drop points at home to Stade Reims on Friday to leave PSG 22 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and needing a win today to make sure of a very early title celebration.
And the Parisians took care of business with the type of ease they have enjoyed this season as they thrashed Troyes 9-0 to win the French league for the sixth time in their history and fourth campaign in succession since the Qatari takeover.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored four times, while Edinson Cavani added two more and Javier Pastore and Adrien Rabiot contributed a goal each on top of an own goal from Troyes' Saunier.
