A legend of Irish football makes his final appearance in a green shirt this evening and to honour this wonderful achievement, Robbie Keane's club LA Galaxy have taken out an ad in today's Irish Times to honour their captain.
In an international career spanning 18 years, Keane brings the curtain down on a glittering tenure with the Irish team in which he scored 67 goals in 145 games.
Keane, 36, has been with the MLS club for five years and is one of the most celebrated players in the club's history after picking up the MLS MVP award in 2014 and scoring 80 goals for the club.
In today's ad on the front page of the Irish Times the Galaxy write: "Congratulations, Keano! The LA Galaxy would like to congratulate Robbie Keane for all of his accomplishments in his remarkable 18-year career with the Republic of Ireland."
Not the most important story on P1 of @IrishTimes, but nice touch from @LAGalaxy to take out an ad for Robbie Keane: pic.twitter.com/Sre2qoxQDJ
