Pep Guardiola says that goalkeeper Joe Hart can leave Manchester City if he wants to.
The relationship between Hart and the newly appointed manager has been rumoured to be fraught, with Guardiola electing to start Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero in their opening win of the Premier League season last weekend.
This all but confirms the suggestion that Hart has no place in Guardiola's immediate plans.
Everton and Sevilla have expressed interest in the English international and Hart is understood to be considering a move with less than two weeks to go until the transfer window closes.
According to former Barcelona boss, Hart can leave or go on loan if he wishes.
"I don't want players to stay if they don't want. If they want to stay, stay and we will fight together. I have a lot of respect for him. I know his value. I was clear what I was looking for. I want to play the way I like and the way I grew up."
"If Joe stays here he will fight with the other keepers and will convince me to play. That is the way it is - nothing has changed."
