If anyone thought Dundalk's three-in-a-row title hopes were beginning to become a long shot after a setback against rivals Cork City, the champions dispelled those doubts with a 4-0 thrashing of St Patrick's Athletic.
Granted the result may not have completely reflected the flow of the game, but as The Irish Daily Mirror's football correspondent Paul O'Hehir said, it shows how ruthless Stephen Kenny's side remain.
He joined Oisin Langan and Richie McCormack on the latest installment of Newstalk's Airtricity League podcast.
"Great response from the champions having lost to Cork the week before," he added, before turning to the forward department with the options of Ciaran Kilduff and David McMillan.
"The way Dundalk play, I don't think we'll see Kilduff and McMillan starting too many games together. Stephen Kenny has tried to sign Kilduff numerous times. Kenny is a huge admirer of Kilduff and he certainly knows where the goal is. He can be a frustrating players at times, whereby he might start the season and get you a good few goals - he did the same for Shamrock Rovers - and then for whatever reason he's in and out of the team or he's picking up injuries and the season just seems to kind of peter out for him a little bit. Whereas McMillan might not always start games but he's a very reliable goalscorer.
"Kilduff has started four of their five games so far and McMillan might have started one and come off the bench in a couple of others. But he's got two goals and Kilduff has three. It's a good headache. It's a mix and match for Kenny. I don't think you'll see the two starting together though."
And Paul also gave his take on how an Irish senior international match against Belarus at Cork City's Turner's Cross in May came about.
