"If his name wasn't Arsene Wenger, he'd have been gone probably by now"

Pat Nevin is doubtful that Arsenal can muster the resolve to finish above Leicester and Tottenham this season and win the Premier League.

The Gunners were knocked out of the FA Cup by Watford on Sunday, leaving the Premier League as the only real hope and that is receding into the distance fast.

"I think it is a bad period for Arsenal just now. They don't even look close to the teams that he's built in the past and the game's they're losing at home to Swansea and at home to Watford - I mean losing away to Man United some people said was bad enough - you just look through it and this game against Watford, they had 71% possession. They should be able to do it," said Pat on Off The Ball.

"Like everyone else, I'm a big fan of Arsene but my goodness this was a chance, wasn't it? And you just think, they're not going to do it, are they? It doesn't look like any point in time, they're going to do it. They've got a game in hand against Tottenham. If they win that they're only three points behind and [a further] five points behind Leicester."

On the Arsenal manager, Pat added that "if his name wasn't Arsene Wenger and he hadn't been there for 20 years, he'd have been gone probably by now".

Pat also shared his first-hand memories of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish's exploits in a brilliantly talented Celtic youth team where his flair was visible before he went for a more efficient approach at Anfield.
