WATCH: Troy Parrott scores sublime goal for MK Dons

Troy Parrott scored a sublime goal for MK Dons today.

Troy Parrott scored another wonder goal, this time for MK Dons against AFC Wimbledon.

Last week it was Chiedozie Ogbene. This week, it's Troy Parrott.

Parrott scored a last-minute winner at home against Lithuania for Stephen Kenny's Ireland two weeks ago. It was maybe not the best goal he's ever scored but it was right up there. It was definitely the biggest goal of his career so far. Parrott scored a similarly spectacular goal today against AFC Wimbledon, but in a completely different fashion.

The 20-year-old forward scored last week against Crewe Alexandra. That was a pretty good goal. But this finish is simply sublime. After the ball is cleared from the corner, he drifts to the back post where he's left unmarked. A good cross back from a narrow position gives Parrott the opportunity to purposely slice the ball upwards into the roof of the net.

Wimbledon were leading 1-0 at the time. There were 10 minutes left in the game so this strike saved a point for his side.

MK Dons haven't got a good goals return from Parrott. But he has also not been playing upfront. He moved to the right wing, which is not his natural position. For Ireland and for Ireland under-21s, Parrott has mostly played centrally while also spending time on the left wing.

Yet despite his position switch, the young forward has cemented himself in the team and is a fan favourite at MK Dons.

Parrott will return to Tottenham at the end of the season before deciding on his future. Antonio Conte's work with Matt Doherty might encourage him to give the youngster an extended look in preseason next year. Or he will most likely go on loan to the Championship.

Stephen Kenny will be delighted to see Parrott playing regularly and playing well no matter what club he is at. Goals such as this one are a nice extra.
