Thomond Park saw a low-scoring game this evening, with Cork City managing a 1-0 win against Limerick FC.
After a scoreless first-half, the second also saw each team without a goal. A yellow card for Limerick's Shane O'Connor in the 61st minute and another for Cork's Colin Healy two minutes later were the most noteworthy events before the game entered its last quarter.
Finally Cork's Robert Lehane's low strike in the 77th minute gave his team the lead, and ultimately the win.
Even with five minutes added time, Limerick FC failed to equalise.
The win has secured another three points for Cork, who maintain their second place on the table, only three points behind Dundalk and now five clear of St Patrick's Athletic.
