Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter has said he expected a tribute to him at the recent FIFA Extraordinary Congress.
The Congress was called after Blatter announced he was to step down from the position last year. Since he announced his resignation, the Swiss native was banned from footballing activities in December.
Gianni Infantino was named president last month to become the permanent successor to Blatter.
According to the Press Association, Blatter told Swiss magazine, Blick that he was surprised FIFA did not praise his work with the association. "I had expected that at the least something about my work would have been said by the congress leader at the beginning or the end. ‘Not even a bye-bye'."
Blatter was FIFA's President from 1998 until last year. Before he was elected President, the 80-year-old had worked at FIFA since 1975 as technical director and general secretary.
He told Blick that he had been contacted by “more than 100 employees of Fifa”. Blatter also revealed that after his suspension he received "220 personal letters, 218 of which were positive".
Blatter had his appeal rejected last month to overturn his ban but it was reduced from eight years to six.
