Russell Martin was a busy man over the weekend; when he wasn't scoring important goals for his side, he was driving up and down the motorway for the birth of his son.
A regular weekend for a Premier League footballer can be pretty busy, with team meetings, training and the small business of actually playing in a game. Those were all things that Martin had to do as usual, but the Norwich captain had something else on his plate: the birth of his son.
Just hours ahead of kick-off at Anfield, Martin was in his car on the motorway to get to the hospital, close to midnight on Saturday he hopped in the car to make it back and be there for the happy moment.

The next morning, on not much sleep, he hopped on a flight with the directors of the team to get back to Anfield and be in the right place at the right time to grab an equaliser that saw the Canaries leave the famous ground with a well-earned point.
Speaking after the match, Martin said that "it's a fantastic day and emotional day" and while it was great to get the goal and the draw, the whole thing left him feeling "over the moon and delighted".
