They picked up an impressive win with a 2 - 0 away result against major tournament regulars Greece, the top seeded team in Group F.
Jamie Ward's deflected shot gave Michael O'Neill's side a 1 - 0 lead, before Kyle Lafferty scored the crucial second goal.
