Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that James McCarthy remains sidelined through injury.
The Ireland midfielder has been struggling to recover from a troublesome hamstring injury that has severely restricted his involvement this season and he will miss tomorrow's FA Cup third round match-up against West Ham.
Martinez says that the player is recovering well but admits that it is a case of wait and see when it comes to his return.
"The hamstring is not ready to cope with 90 minutes football and for that reason we just need to carry on with the treatment and see how every day develops. It's difficult to give an exact date but at the moment he's not going to be available for tomorrow and we'll take it from there," said Martinez.
