Martin O'Neill has suggested that James McClean may get a run-out up front for Ireland in Tuesday night's friendly against Slovakia.
With injuries to Robbie Keane, Jon Walters, Kevin Doyle and Daryl Murphy, in has left the Boys in Green light on options in the forward department.
Shane Long is the only fit striker left in the squad at present.
West Brom winger McClean played up front for the final minutes of the 1-0 win over Switzerland on Friday after being brought on as a sub and O'Neill suggested today that the Derry man may reprise that role again in the second of Ireland's pre-Euro 2016 friendlies.
“We can adjust things. James McClean has played up front before, I’ve seen him play for Wigan there where he has done exceptionally well. So I think we can change things around," said the Ireland manager.
