On Wednesday night, Robbie Keane will make his final Ireland appearance.
And what better way than to sign off with a goal or two?
The 67-time Boys in Green record goalscorer will be aiming to find the net against Oman at the Aviva Stadium as a perfect way to sign and perhaps his team-mates will be tempted to go out of their way to feed him chances.
But as manager Martin O'Neill jokingly emphasised, they had better score themselves if they have the best chance of doing so.
"Well, if they're in a better goalscoring position and they decide to lay one back off to Robbie and he misses... Robbie's retiring and there's a fairly decent chance the other boy will be retiring as well," he said to laughter in the press conference.
O'Neill also took time to praise Keane however, lamenting that he never had the opportunity to manage a 27-year-old Robbie Keane at his peak and saying the send-off against Oman is deserved.
"He's been an absolute terrific player and certainly hard to replace," he added.
