Martin O'Neill is unsure if Roy Keane will stay with the team after Euro 2016

Irish manager Martin O'Neill has revealed that he is unsure if Assistant Manager Roy Keane will stay in the job after this summer's European Championships.

O'Neill and Keane are both out of contract in the summer and when speaking to Off the Ball's Nathan Murphy at the opening of the new Celtic Pure Water facilities in Monaghan, O'Neill said he was unsure of Keane's plans.

"We haven't discussed that at all. Hopefully we're all our own people, and if we do, obviously I'd love Roy to be around about the scene, but you know he's a young man. Who know what he might want to do?"

Keane has not managed since leaving Ipswich Town in 2011. His led Sunderland to the Premier League in his first season as a manager in 2007 before resigning in December of the following year.

"I think absolutely certain he would want to see it through in the Euros", O'Neill added. "Who knows what might happen after that? I have no idea. It's not something that has bothered me a great deal at this moment. Whatever people want to do they'll do."

"I think if you're asking me; 'Does Roy want to go and manage and be the main guy in management?', I think at some stage or another, absolutely he would want to do that, and I think he would be very successful at it."

O'Neill also confirmed that despite a delay in signing a contract extension there has been "no real issue" in contract negotiations and he expects to do so before the summer.
