Earlier this week, Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane confirmed that players' wives, partners and families would not be banned from joining them at their Euro 2016 base.
Wales on the other hand have implemented a ban for the duration of the tournament.
The issue came up at today's Ireland press conference with manager Martin O'Neill throwing out an awkward joke that "good looking" wives and partners would be welcome at the team base.
"Well, it depends on how good looking the girls are," he said.
"If they are really attractive, they're very, very welcome. The uglier ones, I'm afraid not."
