Manchester United fans rejoice! Virgin Media's big weekend of European action

Those Manchester United fans with a Virgin Media Sport subscription are in for an unforgettable treat over the weekend.

On Friday night, almost 21 years after Alex Ferguson's side defeated Bayern Munich in Barcelona, the 1999 Champions League final was replayed on Virgin Media Two.

Over the course of this Easter weekend, however, fans of Manchester United can enjoy much, much more of the club's rich European past on Virgin Media Sport.

On Saturday night at 8pm, fans will be transported back to United's first major success on the European stage.

Only one decade on from the tragic Munich air disaster of 1958, you'll be able to watch Matt Busby lead a side made up of some old faces and new to European Cup success against Benfica.

Featuring the likes of Bobby Charlton and George Best on the United side, the brilliant Portuguese footballer Eusébio was on show that night as Benfica went down 4-1 to United after extra-time.

As if that wasn't enough, you'll go from that breakthrough in '68 to the club's third triumph in 2008.

Nine years after winning the trophy for the first time, Alex Ferguson guides a Manchester United team packed full of stars to Champions League success against Chelsea in Moscow.

Starting from 9:30pm, you'll get to experience once more the agony of a penalty shoot-out that so nearly went the way of the Londoners.

With all of the finals taken care of, on Sunday at 8pm you can experience how they made it into that first final under Ferguson in 1999.

Taking you back to Turin, the heartbreak of a yellow-card that would rule Roy Keane's out of any final United could hope to qualify for, and the subsequent performance from the Cork man that would in part define his legacy, you can turn back to where this weekend started then if you so desire.

From 9pm, Virgin Media Sport will show that Champions League final defeat of Bayern Munich in '99 again.

To all Manchester United fans, enjoy!
