Liverpool's unbeaten run ends away to Watford

Liverpool's unbeaten Premier League run is over after a 3-0 defeat to Premier League strugglers Watford.

All three of the Hornet's goals came in the second-half.

In fact,  Liverpool were lucky to go in at the break behind with Alison making an astounding save after a mistake to keep out Troy Deeney' who was looking to pounce after the Brazilian's error.

Jurgen Klopp's side looked considerably off the pace throughout the game, and were punished via a six minute second-half brace from Senegalese international Ismaila Saar.

Sarr latched on to a Doucouré  long throw to slot home his team-mate’s low cross on 54 minutes.

The Vicarage Road crowd went into ecstasy after the same player added a second on on the hour mark, dually lifting the ball over a helpless Alison after a precise slotted ball from Troy Deeney.

Watford captain Troy Deeney finished the game off with a powerfully executed shot from a tight angle through a number of players, smashing the back of the net.

Watford now move above the relegation zone on goal difference after today's win.

Nigel Pearson adds Liverpool to the scalp after seeing off Ole Solksjaer's' Man United side in his first games in charge.

Liverpool were going for 19 league wins in a row which would have been an English top-flight record.

Manchester United are the only other team to have taken points from the European Champions this season after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford before Christmas.

The German manager's side still have a comfortable 22 point lead at the top the table with Manchester City having a game in hand.

The Scousers can now claim the title from the Premier League champions when the pair clash at the Ethihad, APR. 5.
